Week 8- Avery Piazza "crêpe-de-chine"
(noun) A soft fine or sheer clothing crepe especially of silk
"Her face, above a spotted dress of crêpe-de-chine, contained no facet or gleam of beauty, but there was an immediately perceptible vitality about her as if the nerves of her body were continually smouldering" - The Great Gatsby
I chose this word because I looked it up thought it was going to be just a direct translation from french to english but the word had an english definition which I thought was interesting. The direct translation in english is "Chinese crepe".
