Week 5 - Peter Crosby "Mixolydian"
Mixolydian:
(adj.) the fifth/dominant mode in a modern musical or diatonic scale
"The modern Mixolydian scale is the fifth mode of the major scale (Ionian mode). That is, it can be constructed by starting on the fifth scale degree (the dominant) of the major scale. Because of this, the Mixolydian mode is sometimes called the dominant scale." From music article lesson
This is an interesting and useful concept that I've come across a lot as I've played music over the years, and I thought it was a cool word.
