Week 3 Thomas McKenna "Latter"
Latter: (adj) situated or occurring nearer to the end of something than to the beginning.
The latter might be oppressed in a thousand shapes without any sympathy or exciting any alarm in the former. - Primary source from history class on the Stamp Act
First, this word caught my eye because I though it was ladder, but spelt with two T's. But I realized this couldn't make sense in the context of the sentence, so I did some research. It describes something that is closer to the end than to the beginning and I thought about school and how I wished that it was almost over. So I made a sentence using this word in my head which was, "I walked outside in the warm spring air, knowing that it was the latter half of the school year."
